F2 Design and Performance Standards of Fire Apparatus

F4 Fire Apparatus Electrical Systems

F5 Aerial Fire Apparatus

F6 Allison Automatic Transmissions
  • This exam covers the servicing and maintenance, diagnostics and troubleshooting of Allison Automatic Transmissions AT, MT & HT series
FA4 Advanced Electrical Systems
  • This exam covers advanced electrical systems, including load managers, strobe systems, digital controls, multiplexing, line voltage generating systems of emergency vehicles.

GL Ground Ladder Testing
  • This exam tests the knowledge of a technician on the testing, maintenance and operation of ground ladders. The exam uses NFPA 1931 Standard for Manufacturer's Design of Fire Department Ground Ladders NFPA 1932 Standard on Use, Mainteance, and Service Testing of In-Service Fire Department Ground Ladders.
DO1 Driver Operator Inspection
  • This exam tests the knowledge of the Driver Operator to do a daily/ weeklycheck that will satisfy the new requirements of NFPA 1911 Standard for the Inspection, Maintenance, Testing, and Retirement of In-Service Emergency Vehicles 2017 edition. .

E-0 Maintenance, Inspection, and Testing of Ambulances
  • This exam covers the Maintenance, Inspection, and Testing of Ambulances as covered in Meritor Preventive Maintenance and Lubrication, and NFPA 1911, Standard for the  Inspection, Maintenance, Testing and Retirement of In-Service Fire Apparatus, and more.
E-1 Design & Performance Standards of Ambulances
  • This exam covers the general design and performance standards for ambulances as described in NFPA 1917, Standard for Automotive Ambulances, and general principles of preventive maintenance and servicing.
E-2 Ambulance Electrical Systems
  • This exam covers the basic design and performance requirements of ambulance electrical systems, components of electrical systems, and preventive maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
E-3 Ambulance Heating, Air-Conditioning, and Ventilation Systems
  • This exam covers basic design, requirements and components of these systems.
E-4 Ambulance Cab, Chassis, and Powertrain
  • This exam covers the requirements for the systems that are unique to ambulances, as well as common chassis components.

ARFF VEHICLE TECHNICIAN EXAMS

A-1 Design & Performance Standards and Preventive Maintenance of Aircraft Rescue and Fire-Fighting Vehicles
  • This exam covers the general design and performance standards for ARFF vehicles as described in FAA Advisory Circular 10c Guide Specifications for Water/Foam Aircraft Rescue and Fire-Fighting Vehicles, and the general principles of preventive maintenance and servicing.
A-2 Chassis and Vehicle Components of Aircraft Rescue and Fire-Fighting Vehicles
  • This exam covers the operation and testing of the chassis and vehicle components of ARFF vehicles. The operation of the vehicle systems and components, as well as, inspections, maintenance, and repair of those components are covered in this exam. 
A-3 Extinguishment Systems of Aircraft Rescue and Fire-Fighting Vehicles
  • This exam covers basic design, requirements and components of these systems.

  • This exam covers design and performance standards, installation of the specialized systems and equipment, and the accepted practices used in the service and maintenance of LE Vehicles.
